Architecture: Herman Gesellius, Armas Lindgren and Eliel Saarinen

The National Museum building was designed by three famous Finnish architects Gesellius, Lindgren and Saarinen. They won the architectural competition for the project in 1902, and the building work was conducted mainly between 1905 and 1910. The museum was opened to the public in 1916.
